Elinc Corporation Debuts DICOM Compliant Solution

Seamless Operating Environment for Veterinary Practices Showcased at 2004 American Association of Equine Practitioners Conference in Denver

DENVER, Colorado, Dec. 5, 2004 -- Elinc Corporation, a leading provider of veterinary practice management software, today debuted the release of a DICOM communications compliant version of their Veterinary Information Assistant (VIA™) Veterinary Practice Information Management System (PIMS).  Elinc provides an industry first DICOM compliant solution that provides seamless integration with Digital Radiography, Computed Radiography, Ultrasound, MRI, and other imaging modalities and PACS (picture archiving and communications) systems by integrating billing, modality worklist request, PACS querying, and image viewing, all from within the hospital's practice management system.

    AAEP conference attendees had the opportunity to gain hands-on access to VIA, and through the integrated modality worklist service establish bidirectional communication to the Eklin Medical Systems RapidStore™ clinical PACS platform.  This initial release of an integrated PIMS/PACS solution builds upon the strategic collaboration announced by Elinc and Eklin in September of this year.

    Elinc is scheduled to install the first implementation of this DICOM solution at the Dallas-Fort Worth Veterinary Imaging Center in Irving, Texas by the end of this year.  This new facility will serve both the companion animal and equine markets, and will include multiple modalities - MRI, Ultrasound, DR, and Nuclear Scintigraphy.  All modalities will be integrated into the comprehensive PIMS/PACS solution, which will also include radiographic and teleradiographic interpretation services.  This implementation will be followed by a second implementation at a leading equine practice in January, 2005.
