Technology powering VIA

VIA Cloud + AWS

VIA Cloud is powerful hospital software with all the functionality and flexibility you know and love, plus the benefits of being in the cloud.

Simply put, VIA’s cloud computing provides fast, flexible access, secure data redundancy, and powerful backend servers that we manage for you, to provide economies of scale to allow your hospital to operate more efficiently.

VIA Cloud runs on AWS (Amazon Web Services), the worldwide leader in cloud hosting.

Reliable Access

VIA can be accessed from a wide variety of computing devices, ranging from Apple computers and phones, tablets, internet-connected devices, and natively from Windows PC’s and laptops.

Powerful Foundation

Microsoft SQL Server is the database foundation of VIA and is a proven solution for enterprise level business applications. SQL Server meets the demands of capturing your hospital data while enabling concurrent access to your entire staff without impacting performance.

SQL Server is a leading platform for business-class enterprise solutions among Fortune 500 Companies.

Local server or cloud, you choose

While our cloud service eliminates the need for an onsite server, we also offer our traditional, onsite server-based VIA for those who prefer that architecture. If your hospital is limited by slow or intermittent internet access in your area, an onsite server is often desired.

VIA provides your staff high speed, local network access from workstations, desktops, wireless laptops and tablets. While away from the office, you can still connect to VIA to access medical records, appointments, and update any information through a VPN we configure.

VIA can be accessed in the following ways:

  • Client/Server configuration for reliable and fast data access
  • Virtual Server configuration for ease of IT management
  • Terminal Server or Citrix for remote access or environments with a large number of workstations
  • Disconnected, remote field access using VIA Sync
  • Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection for remotely finishing up work at home
