We wish to congratulate longtime VIA user Dr Randall Ezell for receiving the WVC Distinguished Service Award and being honored as the namesake of the 2016 Randall G. Ezell 88th Annual Western Veterinary Conference.

Dr. Randall G. Ezell received the WVC Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor bestowed by the organization to an individual for advancing the WVC, the Oquendo Center, and veterinary continuing education during his time as WVC president, treasurer, and board member.

New Desktop Dashboard

New for the VIA 8.0 release is the Desktop Dashboard, which provides instant access to your current records along with daily summaries of all hospital activity.

View dashboard summaries by provider, business center, or the entire facility to monitor the day’s productivity on work that is pending and completed. See information such as how many invoices were billed, appointments seen, and labs ordered.

To improve your speed, you no longer have to go to the Patient File to complete records but instead can click on any dashboard view to see the details and carry out related actions. Use the Lab dashboard to see all lab orders and pop up the detailed lab results to review and sign off the record, or complete your SOAP notes, view radiology images, print prescriptions, check in appointments, and update patient recalls all without leaving the Desktop.

Cubex inventory cabinet integration

VIA Information Systems is pleased to announce Cubex as a new partner. After months of development we are in final testing of the integration of Cubex inventory management cabinets and VIA.  The two-way communication provides a seamless order and dispensing workflow. The vet’s authorized VIA treatment plan items along with the patient information are provided to the Cubex cabinet to ensure that only the proper medications are dispensed and billed for every time. Before closing out the invoice, VIA checks with the cabinet to ensure nothing was missed and all dispensed items are accurately billed for.
